How Does AI Content Detection Work?
AI language models have characteristic writing patterns that differ from human writing. Our AI Content Detector uses heuristic analysis — matching text against known patterns, phrases, and linguistic features associated with AI-generated content.
Key Detection Signals
- AI Phrases: LLMs frequently use transitions like 'it is worth noting', 'furthermore', 'in conclusion', and 'delve into'.
- Passive Voice: AI models often default to passive constructions at higher rates than human writers.
- Sentence Uniformity: AI tends to produce consistently structured sentences of similar lengths.
- Lack of Personal Pronouns: Human writing contains 'I', 'me', 'my' and personal anecdotes more frequently.
- Contractions: Humans naturally use contractions (can't, won't, I'm) more than AI models.
Limitations of AI Detection
No AI detector is 100% accurate. Edited AI content, text written in a formal academic style, or non-native English may trigger false positives. Use as a guideline, not a definitive verdict.
